Is Inspector Gadget on Netflix? Yes, indeed. The new series is the first in a reboot of the beloved children’s series. First introduced years ago, the series was a perennial favorite. Disney took it over and reworked it in 1999, and now it’s coming to Netflix. So what is the catch? Here’s what we know about the first season. Read on to find out what we love about the series.

The show is a reboot of the beloved 1980s TV series, which starred Matthew Broderick as the bumbling gadget inspector. Fans of the original show might tune in to watch a few episodes, but many are sure to watch the entire series. Regardless, releasing the first season of Inspector Gadget on Netflix is an inspired move.

Characters
The series features several characters who are related to each other. In addition to the main character, Gadget has several robotic versions. His niece, Penny, is also part of the show. She has a crush on Talon, the nephew of Claw. Penny also helps Gadget solve crimes. In the first season, Penny was voiced by Mona Marshall. After that, Cree Summer and Holly Berger took over the role of Penny.
The show also features several sidekicks who assist Gadget. The most notable of these is Corporal Capeman, who appears in a few episodes. He is as clueless as Gadget is, but not as dumb. Capeman had a passion for flying and often mistookly thought that he had the power to fly in dire circumstances. Capeman was regarded by many fans as the weakest of the three main characters.
CGI animation
The new animated series is slated to premiere in the U.S. on Netflix in March, while other territories will follow afterward. The series is a spinoff from the cult classic, and will follow the adventures of Inspector Gadget, a robotic detective who must stop global crime syndicate MAD before it can take over the world. The Netflix-produced series is produced by Halifax-based DHX Media.
Netflix is taking on the role of a kid-friendly network with a new CGI-animated version of the popular robot detective. The series will consist of 26 episodes and follow Inspector Gadget in his battles with the evil Dr. Claw, a villain who revives MAD, the global crime syndicate. It will also feature the bionic detective’s pet dog, his niece, and other classic characters. Netflix also recently picked up the streaming rights to Danger Mouse, an animated series based on the popular children’s book. The series will debut in North America and the Nordics in spring 2016.
